Intersections by Blendid
Intersections, conceived by Amsterdam-based artist team Blendid, uses motion sensors to detect the movements of residents, commuters and visitors in the area underneath and around the Ballston Metro entrance. This pedestrian activity is digitally converted into a fluid composition of light and color that is projected onto the underside of the Metro canopy.
Intersections is part of the Ballston Business Improvement District’s Public Displays of Innovation public art series and is funded in partnership with Arlington Public Art.
Other project partners include the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, Perseus, FKB Productions and ImagineX.
